Marlon Hurst was most recently the Director of Music and Arts at First Presbyterian Church PC(USA) in Lexington, Kentucky, where he had served since 2003. He was also the Artistic Director of the Kentucky Bach Choir, a semi-professional chorus based in Lexington, from 2009-2023. Prior to his service to the church in Lexington, he was the Director of Music Ministries at Conyers Presbyterian Church in metro Atlanta. While living in the Atlanta area, he sang with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Choruses under the direction of Robert Shaw and Norman MacKenzie. Marlon holds a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a Bachelor of Sacred Music from Cumberland College (Kentucky). He is married to Kathi, and between them they have five adult children who reside in Lexington, Kentucky and Durham, North Carolina.
